Engagement.....

Engagement.....

March 2019

It's an absolute dream to be asked to make an engagement ring for someone, especially a school friend who I am still in touch with almost 40 years since we started school together!  But oh my goodness it was thrilling and nerve wracking at the same time!

Emma and I had a tentative conversation about the sort of ring she might like if Andy were to propose.... we shared a Pinterest board of rings we both liked and then life got in the way and we didn't talk any more about it until Andy rang me with some really exciting news!

Andy and I talked about using a faceted Aquamarine, its a March birthstone and he wanted to propose in March - we thought it fitted really well with the birth of their next adventure together.  Emma's ring is white gold D shaped shank with an aquamarine set in a tube setting.  I wanted the light to really shine through the stone.

I can't tell you how nervous I was making it.  It meant so much to me that they had entrusted me to make a ring that would signify so much and be worn everyday for eternity.  It had to be perfect - and I have a very strong 'be perfect' driver which I normally have to reign in, but this time I didn't...   I did shed tears making it, both tears of joy and tears of wanting to get it absolutely spot on!

Have a look at the photos which have gone to Emma and Andy in their Congratulations card and join me in wishing them every happiness in the first part of their life together, and thank you Emma and Andy for entrusting me to make your ring and share a little bit of your excitement!  PS  You see, I can keep a secret!
