Which pink gemstone should I choose?

With Valentine's Day just on the other side of the weekend and everywhere decorated with delicious pink hearts, which pink gemstone could you choose as a gift? Looking at the photo above you will see pink rhodochrosite, pink opal, rose quartz and morganite. Each of them is a slightly different shade of pink or opacity.

If you are looking for a transparent style stone, then rose quartz and morganite are for you, but if you prefer a more opaque stone, then the pink opal fits that bill, with the pink rhodochrosite also being opaque but it also features a marbled effect which really makes it stylish. Pink rhodochrosite is not a wallflower, thats for sure!

How about matching your pink gemstone with a birth month? The pink opal is ideal for October birthdays as Opal is an October birthstone, Rose Quartz is often cited as a birthstone of January along with Garnet, however it is a zodiac birthstone, so if you are a Taurus, this one is for you! Morganite is said to be perfect for Taurus, Pisces and Cancer. Pink rhodochrosite is ideal for Leo.

Lastly, lets look at the meaning of these stones, I often think that the meanings feel more special and intimate than the fact that the stones represent the moment of your birth. One customer of mine is a real expert at the meaning of gemstones and crystals, perhaps I should have asked her to write this paragraph. She has acted as a consultant to several customers who have not been sure which stone to put with which! Here are the meaningful meanings....

Rose Quartz is known as the crystal of unconditional love. It's said to boost feelings of self-love and foster loving relationships with others.

Pink Opal is a compassionate and nurturing stone, encouraging one to be their authentic self, without worrying what others think. Pink Opal can calm anxious nerves, balance and center emotions providing a sense of of peace and tranquility.

Pink Rhodochrosite is all about the subtle, more feminine energy rays of determination, commitment, and caring. Its soothing colour calms feelings of anger or resentment, and can aid efforts to meditate and reflect.

Lastly, morganite is believed to bring healing, compassion and promise to those who wear it. Morganite opens wearers to unconditional love while lessening a person's ego.

So when all is said and done, what is your choice?
