Inspired by Nature & Memory

We used to have the most enormous willow tree in our garden, and on warm summer days, I would sit beneath it, listening to the breeze rustling through the leaves and watching them swoosh gently above. When I learned the Keum Boo technique, I already had the image of willow leaves in my mind, and I was so excited to finally bring them to life in silver and gold.

Each leaf is hand cut using my piercing saw, then textured using a rolling mill to capture the soft movement of leaves in the wind. I use the ancient Korean technique of Keum Boo to apply 24k gold to fine silver—a process that involves heating, cooling, and careful burnishing with an agate tool. The result is a delicate yet striking design that glows with quiet elegance.

The finished pendant is polished and suspended from a sterling silver curb chain. Every step, from forming to finishing, is done by hand in my Norfolk workshop, making each piece feel as thoughtful and personal as the memories that inspired it.
