Some places feel like home the moment you arrive. For many of us here in Norfolk — and for so many who visit — Holkham Beach is one of those places.

Maybe it’s the first glimpse of pines as you walk through the Gap, the enormous sweep of sand and sky, or the hush of waves when you get out far enough. Maybe it’s the memories made there: picnic rugs and sandy sandwiches, dogs leaping in and out of the water, cricket bats and rounders games, your children paddling for the very first time.

I hear these stories all the time in the shop, at fairs or via message. They’re funny, warm, full of love — and they’re what inspired my new necklace:

A Piece Marked by Place

This necklace is a quiet tribute to Holkham. A smooth square bar of solid silver, stamped with its GPS coordinates — 52.9°N, 0.80°E — and hallmarked with my maker’s mark at the Birmingham Assay Office. It’s polished just enough to catch the light, and has a reassuring weight to it — grounding, calming, quietly powerful.

It’s a piece designed to be worn close. A way to carry a place that means something. A place that holds part of your story.

Why Coordinates?

Coordinates have been used for centuries to map the world — from Ptolemy’s ancient grids to the satellites we use today. Once the realm of sailors and scientists, coordinates can now be something beautifully personal.

They’re universal, yet deeply individual. The same numbers can mean countless different things, depending on the wearer. They quietly say, this happened here, this place matters.
